There were a lot of factors why the land
trade routes were threatened to the Far East, but the major reason why trade in
the Far East was disrupted was because of the Turks. During the year 1453, trade
stopped. This was because the Turks from the Ottoman Empire took over
Constantinople. When they invaded Constantinople, control in the Middle East
became theirs. Because of this invasion, goods from places such as Asia became
scares.
