By the end of a year,Kieran's savings is 9/2 of Simons savings(a) what is the ratio of Kieran's savings to Simons savings to their total savings? (b) How many times the total amount of money saved is Kieran's savings?(c)How many times the total amount of money saved is Simon's savings?(d)Simon saves$28 less than Kieran.How much do both of them save altogether?

Respuesta :

Kieran's savings is 9/2 of Simons savings, So

a) Kieran has 9 parts and Simon has 2 parts,
when together they have 11 parts,
9+ 2 = 11
So the ratio of Kieran's parts to the total saving
= 9parts : 11parts
= 9 : 11

b) Times when the total amount of money saved is Kieran's savings
Kieran/total = 9parts/11parts = 9/11
So, kieran's saving is 9 times.

c) times the total amount of money saved is Simon's savings
Simon/total = 2/11
So. Simon's saving is 2 times the total saving.

d) Simon saves$28 less than Kieran
9x -2x = 28
7x = 28
x = 4
so Kieran saved 9x = $36
Simon saved 2x =  $8
and if we look simon saves $28 less than kieran
$36 - $8 = $28
So together they saved $36+$8  = $44
