Congress is made up of three branch's: Legislative, Executive, and Judicial all three of these branch's have a certain role in the U.S. (United States) Legislative Branch is used to make laws, Executive is used to enforce them, Judicial is used to punish anyone who breaks the laws. Separation of Powers also knowned as "Checks and Balances" is used to separate the power to make sure each branch doesn't get more powerful then the other branch's.
