The major population of their party members was made of ex confederate fighters who were of the ideology that blood and war was the easiest and only way to get power and respect. Also they revailing with regards to getting voting rights reestablished, yet since they had associations with the administration, they were never gotten .Also, they were not allowed in the reconstruction process and were dwarfed by blacks and white democrats after Reconstruction. They were involved in all sorts of debasement and political outrages as they exploited people using savagery to reclaim south especially with the organization known as the KKK
