What is your opinion of the balance of nature hypothesis? Would the deer on the island be better off, worse off, or about the same without the wolves.defend your position

I think they would be worse of without wolves because wolves act as a natural selective pressure which favours the survival of the strongest deers. That is one thing, the second thing is that without a natural predator, the deer would probably reproduce in vast numbers which would reduce the amount of resources available for all of the deer on an island, which would eventually lead to their decay.

An example of how it wouldn't help the deer population on the island is this: The rapid community growth of the deer would propose more food is required. However, an island would only have so much green, so they would eventually die out. Any population of wild herd animals is declining to be sufficiently off with a top line predator. There are a few examples I can point out. The natural balance is important. Predators like wolves can have a far-reaching influence behind disease and population control which are very important. I would say yes because they would possess fewer predators and a protected area to live.
