The Mayflower Compact was built on the sole idea that the people of Mayflower were actually the sole and ultimate source of power. It was also stated that the laws would be just for everybody living there and there would be no discrimination. These are the fundamentals of democracy. All 41 males signed this agreement. This was an agreement made between the people that settled in Mayflower after a treacherous sea voyage. Based on it the people living in Mayflower would be governed. The 41 males that were present agreed upon the rules and the sharing of power based on which the people would be governed.
