Once you have broken the law, specifically causing harm to another individual, you may be denied the right to bear arms, which is give to law-abiding citizens by the Second Amendment. The right to bear arms allows people to have guns, but if you have murdered someone, you're probably going to lose that privilege because you've proved you can't be trusted with weapons.
