Argument A: There is a need for students to understand and be able to construct geometric figures using a compass and straightedge. Argument B: There is no need for students to use a compass and straightedge, and all geometric constructions should be done using a drawing program.

Best go with argument A because in order to effectively use a drawing program students need to first understand the properties of geometric figures and develop mathematical thinking to be able to construct these figures. There is no better way to do that with kids than by using manipulatives (hands-on learning tools).

Answer:

definitely go for Argument A!
