Tyler is thinking of a mixed number he says that 6 less than 5 time the mixed number is equal to three more than one third of the mixed number what mixed number is Tyler thinking of?

2.) for what values of a if any does the equation -3x+5=ax+a have no solution?for what values of a if any does the equation have an infinite number of solution? for what values of a, if any does the equation have one solution?explain.

5x - 6 = 1/3x + 3
5x - 1/3x = 3 + 6
15/3x - 1/3x = 9
14/3x = 9
x = 9 / (14/3)
x = 9 * 3/14
x = 27/14 = 1 13/14 <== ur mixed number

-3x + 5 = ax + a

no solution would mean the lines are parallel.....
thats means that " a " has to be -3

infinite solutions means ur lines have to be the same...
this one cant be done....because the first " a" would be -3, and the last " a" would have to be 5...they could not be the same number

one solution...." a " could be anything except -3
