Well I’m gonna say that the best answer would be C. The reason is because tires, oil, and etc. Had to be used for the war so there was enough to keep the war going with all the machines and the mortality of the men fighting over seas (this is where the sugar and coffee would be good for.) it kept them going and plus it was really rare for them to say any of this considering they were fighting so much. (Coffee would be the one they see the most they see, especially during the winter.) But I hope I helped explain this better for you.
