Model and explain the steps of mitosis and meiosis. Models may consist of drawings or three-dimensional models using craft sticks and beads or other appropriate materials, such as modeling clay. You will NOT get credit for pictures downloaded from the internet. Present your models in the form of a digital picture book, a digital poster, or a media presentation or a scan or photo.

No Check My Work or bibliography is required for this portfolio.

Be sure to include the 3 items below!

Include the following points in the presentation of your models:

1. Identify the process that represents how organisms grow and replace old or damaged cells. (HINT: Answer is either mitosis or meiosis.)

2. Identify the process that is necessary for sexual reproduction, explain why it is necessary, and identify how this process increases genetic variation. (HINT: Answer is either mitosis or meiosis.)

3. Summarize the differences between mitosis and meiosis.

You do not have to put a picture (NoT require DO not include a pic)

Respuesta :

Okay, so for question #3, the difference between mitosis and meiosis is that

meiosis: contains two cell divisions, four daughter cells produce, and the Sister chromatids do not separate in anaphase I.

mitosis: only contains one. two daughter cells produce, and during anaphase, sister chromatids separate and begin migrating centromere first toward opposite poles of the cell

hope this helps in some way :)
