What theme does the statement "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart"  refer to in the Diary of Anne Frank?

Respuesta :

It means that she still thinks that people are good, even after what she went through at the hands of the Nazis.

Answer:

When Anne said, "I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart", she thinks that everyone can be a kind and good person. Even if they have done a lot of bad things, they can still do good things in the future. She thinks you should give everyone a chance to change and to be a good person even if they are on the other side. They just might be on the wrong side at the wrong time. Anne talks about "the goodness of the people we know...Mr.Kraler, Miep, Dirk, the vegetable man, all risking their lives for us every day". Miep and Mr. Kraler are not Jews but they are still helping their friends hide and survive.  This shows us what gives Anne hope in people still. I believe that when Mr. Frank reads her diary entry at the end that it helps him have hope of a better future and reminds him that Anne was a hopeful person. We should all treat others as we want to be treated.

Hope this helps!
