To find the scale factor just divide 8 by 3 or 10 by 3.75 which gives you 2.66666667. To check your answer multiply 3 or 3.75 and see if your result is equivalent to the new measurements which are 8 feet by 10 feet.
For #5 the scale factor is 9 or its reciprocal (1/9) you can either multiply by 1/9 or divide by 9, you are basically doing the same thing. 36 divided by 9 gives you 4 and 54 divided by 9 gives you 6.
