Baghdad was the capital of the Islamic empire in 762. The caliph Al-Mansur on 30th July of 762 ordered for the construction of the city of Baghdad. This city was built under the strict supervision of Barmakids. After the city was constructed, Al-Mansur was of the opinion that this was the ideal city to become the capital of the Islamic empire. Baghdad was also known as the round city because of its round structure. This is the city that is not only the second largest city of the entire Arab world, but also it is the second largest city of South east Asia.
