Two trains leave towns 996 miles apart at the same time and travel toward each other. One train travels 18 miles/hour faster than the other. If they meet in 6 hours, what is the rate of each train?
One train (lets call it train A) is traveling 92 mph. The other train (lets call it train B) is traveling 74 mph. Train A = 96 miles/hour Train B = 74 miles/hour To double check we can multiply both of them by 6 and then add them up. 92 x 6 = 552. 74 x 6 = 444. 552 + 444 = 996. This is true so this means the answer is correct. I hope this helps you
