Ogden purchased right to operate a ferry between Elizabeth point and NYC. Gibbons set up competing line and Ogden sued. Ogden then claimed Gibbons had no right to cross into NY waters. Marshall ruled in favor of Gibbon's destroying Livingston's NY monopoly.
I agree with Marshall’s ruling that Gibbons had a right to compete with Ogden’s ferry line.
What is Competition?
This is a condition where two or more parties strive for a common goal because everyone can't have it.
I do agree with Marshall's ruling because the Federal government has the power and final say in making decisions involving more than one state so as to prevent conflict.
