Answer:For my topic I picked Water Pollution.  I picked this because it is a really big issue. Some things that pollute the oceans around the United States are straws, bottles, trash bags, silverware, and all sorts of plastic that gets in the waters, and rivers in and around the United States of America. There are more than 14 billion pounds of trash in the oceans of our world. It is also estimated that the average American produces 4.5 lb of trash a day. This can be from an empty bottle, to  bodily waste. In lake Erie, there are 10,000 tons of plastic. If we keep putting plastic into the ocean, it affects the animals, wildlife, air quality, and basically the quality of our whole entire planet.  something needs to be done about all of the trash and waste that is going into the ocean, rivers, lakes, and streams in America. Some of the ways that people have helped get trash out of the ocean are donations, and a lot of influencers and businesses will donate a percentage of the money they make to Charities to do this and make a difference.  there's a brand called 4ocean That helps you get trash out of the ocean.  for every bracelet you buy A pound of trash will be out of the ocean.  overtime they have pulled 11,238,223 pounds of trash out of the ocean Since 2017. They are doing this all around the world, and trying to get trash out of the ocean. Places like this are really good for our world to get trash out of the oceans and make a cleaner, better planet. That is a very good way that you can help, by buying a bracelet to get a pound of trash out of the ocean. Another way you can help is by using metal straws, or reusable straws. You also can stop using  plastic plates and buy things that are made out of paper instead of plastic wrapping. What I do is I use the straws that I use that are plastic, and put them into my hot glue gun like a hot glue stick. and then it melts the straw and I can make cool things out of it that I keep. Simple things like that can help a lot.
