the palatine tonsils

The answere is Palatine tonsils

Further explanation

Palatine tonsils, commonly called tonsils or faucial tonsils, are tonsils located on the left and right sides behind the throat, which can often be seen as flesh-colored, pink lumps. Tonsils are only present as "white bumps" if inflamed or infected with symptoms of exudate (pus drainage) and severe swelling.

Tonsillitis is tonsillitis and will often, but not necessarily, cause a sore throat and fever. In chronic cases, tonsillectomy can be indicated.

Palatine tonsils are located in the isthmus fauces, between the palatoglosic arch and the palatopharyngeal arch of the soft palate.

Palatine tonsils are one of the mucosal-associated lymphoid tissues, which are located at the entrance to the respiratory tract and upper digestive tract to protect the body from the entry of exogenous material through the mucosal site. Because of this, it is the site of, and potential for focus, infection, and is one of the main immunocompetent tissues in the oropharynx. This forms part of the Waldeyer ring, which consists of adenoids, paired tubal tonsils, paired palatine tonsils, and lingual tonsils. From the pharyngeal side, they are covered with multilevel squamous epithelium, while fibrous capsules connect them to the pharyngeal wall. Through the capsule it passes through trabecules containing small blood vessels, nerves and lymphatic vessels. This trabecule divides the tonsils into lobules.

The nerves that supply the tonsil of the palatin originate from the maxillary division of the trigeminal nerve through the lower palatine nerve, and from the tonsillar branches of the glossopharyngeal nerve. The glossopharyngeal nerve continues through the palatine tonsils and innervates 1/3 of the posterior tongue to give a general sensation and taste. This nerve is most likely to be damaged during tonsillectomy, which causes a reduction in general sensation and taste sensation to the third of the back of the tongue.
