Polynomial long division

(6x^4+3x^3-7x^2+6x-5)/(2x+x-3|)

My only real question is, I know how to divide with two terms but here I am given 3 terms to divide by. What is my first step?

Multiply the divisor by 3x^3 because you want the first part of the divisor to be able to subtract off of the first part of the diviend. (i hope that didn't sound too dumb)...
