What are renewable resources?
Renewable resources are those that cannot be depleted even after continual use. The sun, wind, and tidal energy are examples of renewable resources.
- Water is a renewable resource since the hydrological cycle replenishes it. The movement of water above, in, and on the earth is known as the hydrological cycle.
- wood is a renewable resource because more resources can be developed to replace any wood that is chopped down.
- Sunlight is considered a renewable resource since it absorbs solar energy from the sun on a constant basis.
- Because wind does not deplete when used, it is a renewable energy source. The wind is constantly replenished by nature.
What are non-renewable resources?
Non-renewable resources are those that cannot be replaced quickly when they are depleted. Fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas, as well as rare minerals found in meteorites, are examples of non-renewable resources.
- oil, natural gas and Coal are fossil fuels and humans constantly deplete these resources while fossil fuels take millions of years to get replenished. the fossil fuels we used today have been formed millions of years ago.
- Uranium and metal ores are in limited quantities in the earths core and hence are non renewable.
Hence these are the classification of these natural resources as renewable or nonrenewable.
