I think the first answer is x > 4, but I'm not sure, I need help with that. I don't know if there even is a second answer or not. But what the heck is #8 talking about as well?

Edit: Nevermind! There's something weird, the asterisks by the numbers mean something, but I forgot what my teacher said about them! *faceplant*

|2x -3| > 4 + 1

|2x -3|  > 5

Now let's solve the absolute value

We know either 2x -3 >5 or 2x -3<-5

Let's solve the first possibility

2x - 3 > 5

2x > 5+ 3

2x > 8

x > 8/2

x> 4

Now solve the second possibility

2x - 3 < -5

2x < -5 + 3

2x < -2

x < -2/2

x< -1

Thus the correct answer is x > 4 or x < -1
