What happens when the House and the Senate pass different versions of the same bill?
A. The House bill is changed to conform to the Senate bill.
B. The Senate bill is changed to conform to the House bill
C. A conference committee is appointed to resolve the differences
D. A standing committee from one house is chosen to resolve the differences
Many times, the House and Senate pass slightly different versions of a bill. If this does happens both the House and the Senate appoint conferees to work out an agrement. This committee is called a "conference" committee.
