I think that the American Revolution would have happened irrespective of whether the Age of Enlightenment had taken place or not. The only difference would have been the timing. The Age of Enlightenment probably hastened the revolt of the American people against the British Colonialists. Sooner or later, with or without the Age of Enlightenment, the Americans were going to get tired of British rule, as was happening all over the world. The colonialists in all countries were starting to revolt against British rule.
