"Kill the Indian, and SAve the Man": - Capt Richard H. Pratt. In this quote, Pratt was encouraging Native Americans to be assimilated into American society. Based on what you learned about the process of assimilation, what impact did it have on NAtive Amrican communities? (Provide at least two clear examples/historical details to support your thoughts.)

Respuesta :

Indians were considered savages and were savages compared to the people that settled in America. For example, Pocahontas was raped and forced to marry John and was sent to England. This is not mentioned in the movie because no one would let their children see that, so the movie was portrayed as a love story. And the people who meet up with the Indians were ungrateful, when the Pilgrims first arrived in the North America the Indians welcomed them and cared for them since they didn't know how to survive In the United States.
