According to the 10 characteristics of servant leadership, stewardship is taking responsibility for the leadership role.
Being in the leadership role give us perks such as huge power over organization and spotlight given when the organization is succesfu. But, it also came some responsibilities. One of them is taking the blame if the organziation somehow ending up in failure. Leaders can't just only take the perks while ignoring the responsibilities.

Based on the ten characteristics of servant leadership, stewardship is about taking the responsibilities for the role of leadership. It also highlights the use of persuasion and openness, rather than control.

A crucial quality of a servant leader is their capability to conceptualize, or envisage the possibilities of the future and settle it with current realities.  

6. Persuasive

This quality is useful in negotiations with business partners, stakeholders, and customers. Because leaders who serve are dedicated to the welfare of others, they utilize this ability just for influencing others positively.

7. Stewardship

They undertake full responsibility for managing and planning all available resources for the improvement and welfare of the employees, organization, and stakeholders.

8. Foresight

Servant leaders have an intuitive capability to foresee what is likely to occur in the future. This foresight allows these leaders to plan ahead.

9. Community building

Under a servant leader, individuals come together for a mutual objective. They can create a feeling of belonging to something greater than each person, and promote team spirit and a community sense.
