During the Crusades many people were coming and going from Europe to the Middle East, this made possible for them to buy and exchange goods and cultures. Europeans became more interested in the food and spices the Arabs had and the Crusades made trade possible. Also, the Crusades helped to develop a new system of roads and paths between the two continents which were used for trade.
Marco Polo was an Italian explorer that was born in a family that was famous for traveling around the world. Marco Polo left Venice and went to China, India and around the Mediterranean. With his travels, he was able to discover new goods such as spices and rice that were not known in Europe. His travels were very important because he had discoveries on geography, people, culture, government, religions, plants, animals and others.
