It is the American Correctional Association (ACA). It has existed and operated since 1870. Up until 1954, it existed under the name National Prison Association. It is the biggest organization of this kind not only in the U.S.A., but also in the entire world. Even though it is a private organization, it supervises and accredits all the prisons in America.
