Perhaps the most profound lesson we can learn from the Kiowa experience of Christianity is that the way in which Kiowa Christians have possessed the capacity to change what started as an activity in social imperialism into a reaffirmation of custom Kiowa esteems challenges the assumption that "bona-fide cultures" never show signs of change.
