    The great pyramids were built for two reasons. The first reason was to give the pharaoh that had recently passed a place to put his tombstone. A lot of time and effort when into making these big buildings. For example the "Great Pyramid" took about 20 years to make. So the pharaohs have to choose a wise design that fits their personality.

    The second reason why pyramids were built was to please the gods. They believed they had to please the gods in order to get happiness and unhappiness. So they had to also built the pyramids so that the gods would like them.
