Positive is that you own the house and don't have to pay taxes and rent. Except for property tax. Negative is that if there are any major issues or problem with the house then it's up to you to fix it. A lot of the Times the bank will work with you on your mortgage and help you keep the house valued. If you don't pay the mortgage however you can lose the house
