Wright decided that not everybody could be straightforwardly positioned into the worker-capitalist classes that Marx defined. Reasonably, some people fell into what Wright called as contradictory class locations since they were concurrently members of more than one class. Their subsequent position could produce contradictory interests. For the reason that contradictory class locations, Wright changed Marx's model and identified four classes:
(1 ) capitalists, proprietors who hire many workers;
(2 ) petty bourgeoisie, proprietors of small businesses;
(3 ) managers who sell their work but also use authority over others; and,
(4 ) workers who just sell their labor to others.
