The number of moles of AlBR3 is equal to molarity times volume, which is 0.5 x 0.4 = 0.2. 1 mole of AlBr3 gives 3 moles of Br- ions. So 0.2 moles of AlBr3 gives 3 x 0.2 moles of Br- ions. Answer is 0.6 moles.
