What theme of the play Hamlet is apparent in these lines?

Alexander was buried, Alexander returneth to dust; the dust is earth; of earth we make loam; and why of that loam whereto he was converted might they not stop a beer-barrel? Imperious Caesar, dead and turn'd to clay, Might stop a hole to keep the wind away.

A.) revenge
B.) corruption
C.) mortality
D.) insanity
E.) greed

Respuesta :

i would say the them that is apparent in these lines is C.) mortality because he talks about corruption and Caesar being "dead turned to clay". this can be interpreted as a way of saying that death is inevitable.

-hope this helps
The theme of the play is C. mortality
In literature, Mortality theme always to tried to find out the deeper meaning behind death.
From the lines above, we can see that Shakespeare somehow indicated that even the living world is made from death and decay that nobody, even the mightiest able to escape from.
