Edward Titchener's method of introspection, while being a valuable tool for understanding human psychology, had limits. One limit was that Titchener's method only allowed humans to be studied using introspection, ignoring other methods that allow people to be studied from the perspective of a peer or an outside observer. Another limit is the notion that one's own memory and self-evaluation could be skewed, or even false.
