Hey!
Hope this helps...

Finding the GCF of this, is like finding it of 60 and 12, but instead your using variables...
If you have any questions, please drop a comment and I'll try to answer it to the best of my ability...
(42a^5b^3, 35ab^4, 42ab^4)
We know that 42 and 35 have a GCF of 7...
So now we take 7 out of the every number...
7(6a^5b^3, 5ab^4, 6ab^4)
We also know that the greatest a value that can be taken out is a^1...
So now we take a^1 out of every a variable...
7a(6a^4b^3, 5b^4, 6^4)
We also know that the greatest b value that can be taken out is b^3...
So now we take b^3 out of every b variable...
7ab^3(6a^4, 5b, 6b)
So...
The answer is: The GCF of 42a^5b^3, 35ab^4, and 42ab^4 is 7ab^3
