Sociology studies the function, the evolution and the different structures of human societies. The French motto "Liberté, égalité, fraternité" that means "liberty, equality, fraternity" (fraternity is also translated as brotherhood) was created during the French Revolution. This motto means, in a general sense, that citizens have freedom of choice, are equal to the eyes of the law and are part of a community. Therefore, the motto supports sociology by reminding people that they are part of an evolving society.
