What is the difference between meter and rhythm in music?

Meter tell the musician how many beats are in a measure of music, whereas rhythm is how fast the beats go in a measure.

i.e in a 3/4 time signature, there are 3 beats in a measure
these three beats go at a speed of 120 beats per minute
