The Native American groups of the northern west coast destroyed all food sources in places they arrived. Then they moved on to other places for search of food.  They basically hunted animals for food and gathered the fruits and nuts to make themselves survive. They also fished in water with spears. Sometimes they hunted large animals like seals and whales. They made canoes out of the wood of trees and also sheltered themselves from weather with the help of animal skins. This way they adapted themselves.
