[tex] \frac{40}{9.6} = \frac{48}{n} [/tex]

Reduce the fraction on the left by dividing by 8  (remember 8 goes into 96 so it will go into 9.6 too)

[tex] \frac{5}{1.2} = \frac{48}{n} [/tex]  Now cross multiply.

5n = 57.6   finally divide both sides by 5

n= 11.52 ft - answer
