A rebellion of debt-ridden farmers was led by "Daniel Shays". These were collectively referred to as "Shay's Rebellion" and they proved the inadequacy of the federal government to respond in a proper manner.
Daniel
Shay led the farmers in Western Massachusetts to an armed rebellion against the
British. The rebels are called Shaysites, the uprising was caused by the taxes
imposed during that time and financially troubled farmers, would either be imprisoned or properties were claimed if the they failed to repay their
debts.
