Ram Mohun Roy whose name can also be spelled as Rammohun, Rammohan or
Ram Mohan was born on May 22, 1772 in Radhanagar, Bengal, India and
later died on September 27, 1833 in Bristol, Gloucesterhire, England. He
was a brave Indian religious who is known for reforming social and
educational aspects in India. He defied the traditional Hindu culture
and showed the progress that could be attained by Indian society under
British leadership. He tried to stopped child marriage, purdah and sati but not cash crops.
