Lets make an equation:
[tex]x+6x=35[/tex] where x=amount of points scored in the first game
Add up all the x's and you get [tex]7x=35[/tex]
Solve for x 
[tex]7x/7=35/7[/tex]
[tex]x=5[/tex]
The question asks the score for the second game and the score for the second game is 6 times as much as the first
Therefore, we know that in the equation [tex]x+6x=35[/tex]
that 6x is the second equation
"Plug" in "x" for 6x where [tex]x=5[/tex]
[tex]6*5=30[/tex]
