When solving a math question, we need to follow PEDMAS
Parenthesis
Exponents
Division/Mulitplication
Addition/Subtraction
Example:
[tex]2*3^2-4/(8+2(2))[/tex]
Simplify the Parenthesis.
[tex]=2*3^2-4/(8+4)[/tex]
[tex]=2*3^2-4/(12)[/tex]
Evaluate the Exponents.
[tex]=2*9-4/(12)[/tex]
Multiply/Divide from left to right.
[tex]=18-1/3[/tex]
[tex]=54/3-1/3[/tex]
[tex]=53/3[/tex]
