We know that to find the perimeter you have to add all sides (the dimensions) so that would be width plus height plus width plus height.

P = w + h + w + h

Since we're only given the measurements of the perimeter, to find the dimensions we have to divide the perimeter by 4 since there are 4 sides.

228/4 = s

so :

228 feet = 2*LS + 2*SS

114 feet = LS + SS

where LS is the length off the longer side, and SS is the length of the shorter side.

So if you know the length of one of the sides, you can derive the length of the other by using that equation, and this way know all the dimensions of the tennis court.
