a) On the Histogram, we can read on the x-axis the average time spent on the marathon and on the y-axis the number of participants that completed the marathon within 3.2 hours
On the box plot we can read from down to up:

Minimum time
1st Quartile
Median
3rd Quartile
Maximum
And the outliers

b) Mode is the highest frequent results. A bimodal distribution reflects the 2 highest group who performed a given same time

c)

Men distribution is concentrated between 2.2 and 2.3 hours, Whereas women distribution is spread between 2.4 and 2.6 hours.
The men outliers fall within the women's performance, while women's are heavily spread beyond 2.8 hours
(obviously, here you can compare both minimum, Q1, Median, Q2, Max, interquartile, range, etc.

d) The difference of Men's and Women's performance in 1970 was largely favoring men, but throughout the years both improved their result and the gap between men and women was reduced significantly (with an edge to women) until 1980. And from 1980 to 2000, the margin was almost constant
