The maps are the 2 dimensional representation of the earth and are very widely used but it provides data only regarding the surface of the earth. So in order to have a more clear picture of the features and structures present on earth, one must have the skill or ability to look at a subject (picture), understand it and interprete it that how it has formed and evolved.
