President Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb can be seen in two different perspectives.  Dropping the bomb saved a lot of American lives.  Although it saved a ton of American lives, it killed 140,000 people in Hiroshima and 80,000 people in Nagasaki.  President Truman dropped the bomb because 1, Japan refused to surrender peacefully. 2. America wanted revenge on Japan for Pearl Harbor. 3. Truman wanted to force Japan's surrender and prevent an invasion.  President Truman shouldn't have dropped the bomb because !, the main event that triggered Japan's surrender was the Soviet Union's declare of war on Japan. 2. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were two cities in Japan that were not military targets.  They were civilian filled cities. 3. Dropping the atomic bomb was an experiment.  The USA had no idea what chaos it would cause.  Just killing people is morally wrong.
I hope this helps.
