List three main differences between the German and Scots-irish immigrants.

The Germans arrived in the US as huge families, communities or congregations. As such, the sense of community was superior among German immigrants. On the other hand, Scot-Irish immigrants had a notion of freedom that man is his own master. As such, they prioritized families instead of communities.  
German language died quickly in America and left no impact in the larger American society. On the other hand, the Scot-Irish immigrants influenced the Midlands-English dialect.
The Scot-Irish immigrants hated the notion of free blacks, while the German immigrants were uncomfortable with the institution of slavery.

The difference between German and Scots-Irish immigrants:

1. Their value about family and society are different. For the German immigrants family and society are important, while for Scots-Irish immigrants, the family is important but society is less important.

2. The German language slowly died out because most of the German immigrants' next generation no longer speak German. The English dialect is spoken by the Scots-Irish enrich the basis of the American "Midlands" dialects.

3. Both of immigrants settled in the Shenandoah Valley but in the different part. The German immigrants were in the north area while the Scotch-Irish in the southern part.

Many Germans and Scots-Irish came to America because of some of the pull factor that happened in their origin country such as, religious conflicts, politic issues, and crops failure. Both of these immigrants arrived and settled in Pennsylvania, New England, and Virginia.  

Most of the German immigrants came from the Palatinate region of Germany. They arrived in families or as whole communities or congregations. They escaped from Germany because of religious conflict.

The term Scots-Irish is known only in America. It is to call people from the Ulster area in Ireland. Around the 1600s, many Scottish came to Ulster and most of them are Protestant. The term Scots-Irish also to distinguish them from Irish Catholic.
