Hey there!
Ratios basically state the relationship between two numbers. For example, if you say that there is one part of something to one part of something else, then the relationship is perfectly is equal. That will be represented by 1:1.
You can multiply any ratio by any number to get an equivalent of that ratio. You can multiply 1:1 by 2 to get 2:2. You could also multiply 1:1 by 5 to get 5:5, and so on. No matter what, you can always simplify these ratios back down to 1:1.
