This is because most of the molecules present in organisms are nonpolar so it would only dissolve in nonpolar solvents like lipids, DNA, proteins, amino acids and fats. Nonpolar molecules would share their electrons equally resulting to having no partial charges in the molecule. The electronegativities are cancelled by each atom. Examples of this are most of the organic compounds like benzene and hexane, carbon tetrachloride is also a nonpolar molecule.
